With a strong
background in business
performance and life
coaching of
professionals and
executives,
Pam continues to coach these
people to reach important
personal and professional
goals. In fact, many parents
enlarge the scope of their
coaching to include not only
sports parenting issues but
also to attain other
meaningful personal and
professional goals.
Pam has earned the highest
designation, Master Coach
Certification, from the
International Coach
Federation.
What exactly is this kind of
coaching?
There are many
parallels between the role
of a sports parent coach and
the role of an athletic
coach. Why do all
athletes, even the
highest-paid professionals,
have coaches? They seek
greater skill development,
an outside perspective that
reveals what they can’t see,
accountability,
encouragement, especially
through challenges, and
acknowledgment of successes.
Pam acts as a
confidential, neutral, and
perceptive sounding board.
She offers new perspectives,
constructive feedback,
effective suggestions, tools
for dealing with obstacles,
and the motivation and
inspiration for making
positive changes.
When you enter a coaching
partnership, you create an
effective structure to
propel you toward your
important goals with more
ease and speed than you
thought possible.
How does coaching with Pam
work?
She coaches men and
women, one-on-one, across
the nation, by telephone.
If appropriate, your
child athlete might be
included directly in the
process. You’ll discover
telecoaching is effective,
and everyone likes the
convenience! Everything
that’s discussed is kept
completely confidential.
Coaching begins when you
fill out an assessment and
sports parent questionnaire
based on the “8 Winning
Practices for Parenting
Athletes.” This will help
determine where to focus
attention so that you can
get the best results. The
assessment is useful as a
framework, however
everything about the process
is uniquely personalized for
your needs and wants.
After you complete the
pre-coaching questionnaire
and assessment, you and Pam
meet on the phone for a
one-time, 75-minute
foundation session. Together
you will develop your
customized Game Plan and
priorities. After that you
typically meet by phone
three times each month for
40 minutes. You are
encouraged to take advantage
of complimentary
between-session email
support.
How long would we coach
together?
That really depends on
you and your goals. For
private coaching an initial
commitment of three months
is requested in order to
benefit from the experience.
Most people stay with the
coaching process beyond this
time frame in order to take
advantage of the momentum,
but it really depends on
what works for you.
Of course, if at any point
in your coaching the process
is not working for you, you
can discuss this with Pam
and decide whether or not to
continue.
What is semi-private
coaching?
This is a unique
alternative to one-on-one
coaching. Semi-private
coaching is where you and
another sports parent team
up to work with Pam. Your
partner can be your spouse
or another parent. The other
person does not have to live
in your same city, and their
child can be involved in the
same sport or a different
one.
Each of you meet
individually with Pam for
the one-time, 75-minute
foundation session. After
that you typically meet by
phone two times each month
for 60 minutes. Semi-private
is a great way to save money
plus it’s fun and works
extremely well.
How do I get started?
If you are serious about
creating a positive,
successful sports experience
for you and your child, and
you are motivated to take
action, then the easiest way
to get started is to
schedule a complimentary
phone consultation with Pam.
In 20 minutes you’ll both
find out if it’s a good fit.
You will also take away
something of lasting value.
Send
Pam a
note to schedule
your complimentary session.
You will receive a section
of the sports parent
self-assessment and
instructions for arranging
the complimentary
consultation.
